Canoeing.

I will be talking about how canoeing is interesting to me. It is a fun thing that I like to do.
A canoe is a small narrow boat that which you usually use paddles and paddle yourself but sometimes they do have motors also. The paddlers face the direction in which you are traveling or where you would like to go. The paddlers are either seated on supports in the hull or they can also be kneeling directly upon the hull.
A canoe has seven different parts to it. It has parts called the bow, stern, and hull. It also has a things called the seat, thwart, gunwale, and a deck. The thwart is a horizontal crossbeam that is near the top of the hull used to increase hull strength. The gunwale is a reinforcing strip running along the top edge of the hull to which the thwart is attached. The deck is a foam block which will prevent the canoe from sinking.
There is also different designs that a canoe has. These are some of the things, dugout, birch-bark-canoe, wood and canvas canoe, voyageur canoe, and there was also one that was called the war canoe. There are some more but it is too many to say.
There are also different ways you can paddle your canoe. I am just going to tell you some of them not all of them. There is the forward stroke, J-stoke, back stroke, cruising stroke, and C-stroke. You can look this up if you would like to know more ways that you can paddle.
